Best thing About this Album: The impressive spectrum explored and uncovered within only five tracks.
One thing I wish was different: 10 Ways is probably my least favorite track, so I personally wished they had picked a stronger closing track (i.e. one with a bit more intellectual substance). It is a good party track though, so it does leave you feeling happy and pumped up.

After an EP release earlier in the year, I didn’t think we would get new music from The Unlikely Candidates quite so soon, but they lived up to their name, and I was happily surprised with the Danger To Myself EP dropping last week.

Five tracks is not much to both establish a clear theme and explore diversity within said theme, but this EP definitely delivers on both points better than I ever could’ve hoped for. AND it seamlessly continues the narrative from their previous Ep, Bed Of Liars. Though this release as a whole feels very larger-than-life in its explosively energetic tone, it still hits more intimate moments and provides plenty of nuanced tones.

Here are some of my favorite lines from each track to give you a better lyrical sample of the whole album. Take a look and then take a listen!
(Note: The lyrics of this EP, taken out of context are not as impressive as they are within the framework of the whole songs. So just add +75 points mentally to however you feel about each of these lines in isolation.)

“After all this love I borrowed, I’m waiting on the day you don’t want me tomorrow.” — Danger To Myself

“Take the sun, and take the sky. Take the color out my eyes.” — World In My Pocket

“I fall in love, but I mostly fall.” — Celebrate

“Where you go is where I follow.” — Final Destination

“I just can’t get you off my crazy mind.” — 10 Ways

That’s it. If you loved these songs as much as I did, please consider supporting The Unlikely Candidates by purchasing the EP from their website or on your favorite digital music store (iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, etc.)

And holler at me in the comments! I’d love to talk to you all about this album.
