Best thing About this Album: The writing, quite frankly, takes my breath away. The level of care and skill that went into crafting this masterpiece is truly inspiring.
One thing I wish was different: While I love all of the thought that went into the little details of the sounds and instrumentation of these songs, there were a lot of minute decisions that weren’t my favorite. But, I can tell that they were thoughtfully done, so I can respect and appreciate that.

Okay, folks. Sit up straight and pay attention. I’m about to introduce you to an album that promises to be one of the greatest releases of the year. Lewis Watson. Remember that name, because this kid is going places! Or rather, he’s already been places. He’s in an amazing place right now!

While this album can be clearly classified into the singer/songwriter category, Lewis takes an extremely open-minded and experimental approach to crafting each of these masterpieces, so we get a lot of interesting sonic textures and facets that are usually absent in the acoustic-centric genre.

Here are some of my favorite lines from each track to give you a better sample of the whole album. (Tbh, there are so any amazing lyrics that it was truly difficult to pick out only one line per track!)

“The storm inside’s just your breathing.” — maybe we’re home

“A stranger to my skin, but now I’m braver in my bones.” — little light

“You give me nothing when there’s nothing else.” — deep the water

“I’ve been washed away with everything I’ve ever known.” — la song

“Some day we will all be ghosts.” — when the water meets the mountains

“Living life unheady on a planet black and white, but the color’s heavy when it’s only you and I.” — hello hello

“Find our way back to forever.” — forever

“’Cause when you’re all out of love, you just run.” — run

“When I’m going under, you give me life.” — give me life

“We’ll watch the sky explode from the beautiful below. ” — slumber (feat. lucy rose)

“They say we’re nothing but a heartbeat, but I can tell that when our eyes meet, we can go on forever.” — (midnight)

That’s it. If you loved these songs as much as I did, please consider supporting Lewis Watson by purchasing the album from his website or on your favorite digital music store (iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, etc.)

And holler at me in the comments! I’d love to talk to you all about this album.
