Who Should Buy This: Weezer fans, people with a sense of humor, people who wonder at the scope of the universe, and people who like an active sense of relaxation rather than a passive mind.
Album: Radio Transmission Failure
Genre: alternative, indie, rock
Music Rating: 9/10
Lyrics Rating: 9/10
Sounds Like: Better Off, Daisyhead, Weezer
Best thing About this Album: The unapologetic nature with which this album is actively existing.
One thing I wish was different: My personal preference favors more intricacies and layered texture in lyrical technicality rather than the beautifully displayed minimalism in this album, but that is not an objective deficit in any way.
Favorites: Reconnect, Transmitter, and the other eight tracks tbh

With an attitude geared towards lyrical minimalism and musical expansiveness, Anakin is like an outerspace themed alt-rock band remeniscent of the fuzzy guitar and bold synths of the Weezer era. Much of their music has a serious sense of humor, and Radio Transmission Failure is no exception. That being said, it also does not shy away from heavy matters or the deeper implications of life in this universe. Here are some of my favorite lines from each track, to give you a lyrical sampling of the album.
“Welcome to this new mindset we’ve launched into.” — Ultrasonic
“We’ve stayed sincere while you’ve been stuck inside denial.” — Overdue
“It’s not too late to turn this around. Detach, retract and be still. We’re lost in space. We haven’t burnt out. Relax; backtrack and rebuild.” — Motionless
“When we take time to ourselves and connect with no one else, we can see with clarity.” — Reconnect
“It’s hard to think we’ll be okay. You know that we can’t be the same.” — Deceiver
“Abandon the plans we had and take a chance on what we have.” — Polaris-385
“An open mind leaves doubt behind.” — Transmitter
“What can we do to convince you this cannot be reality?” — Alienated
“We could shut out the world and not care what they do.” — Earthless
“Daydream without me. Sleepwalk alone, lost within this realm unknown.” — Sleepwalk
